Tastings in our cellar, led in English

Leave the rush of the day outside and slow down with us over a good glass. You can stop by for one, or give the evening over to the wine properly, matched with Jaruška's cooking. What you will be drinking is unfiltered, alive, and made with very little sulphur.

Jaromír leads the tasting in English. It is the version our guests from abroad and their business partners usually ask for, and it is the same cellar, the same bottles and the same evening as the Czech one.

What it costs, and how to arrange it

The price depends on the date and on what you want the evening to be, so we quote it as a specific offer rather than a list price. Write to Jaromír at jaromir@vinarstvimedek.cz or call +420 608 667 701 and tell him roughly when you would like to come and how many of you there are. E-mail usually gets an answer within the week.

Our online booking calendar is in Czech only, so for a tasting in English, please write or call instead. It reaches the same diary.

How many of you can come

We have the cellar and a tasting room for groups up to 12 guests. For anything from 12 up to 75, we hold the tasting in the pleasant cellar of Hotel Koníček nearby. Food and a bed are both available on site.

Five stars is what people leave us on Google.

Book earlier than feels necessary

The best dates go months ahead, so do not wait too long. Details can always be settled later. A booking has to be in at least 25 hours before the tasting begins.

One thing to know beforehand

Come without perfume, aftershave, deodorant or strongly scented laundry. If the room smells of fabric softener, the finer notes in the glass are the ones you will miss. For the same reason, if you can, skip mouthwash, chewing gum, mints, cigarettes and coffee beforehand, so the first samples land properly too. Anything else about wine etiquette we can happily talk through on the night.

Staying over

You can sleep a few steps from the cellar, in one of two flats with their own kitchen and garden. Photos, what is in them and how to book are on the rooms page. With a bed here, nobody at the table has to think about who is driving.
