Rooms right next to the cellar
Next to the winery stands a house with two flats, the Studio and the Apartment. Each has its own entrance, its own kitchen, its own bathroom and its own separate piece of garden.
We fitted them out the way we would want to arrive somewhere ourselves: you can cook, nobody disturbs you, you have privacy and nothing is missing.
The cellar is a few steps away, so after a tasting nobody has to work out who is driving. And you can stay for a whole holiday here, not just one night.
Both flats have Wi-Fi. You park right by the apartment, and when that space is taken, a hundred metres further up. You collect the key from a code box, so you can arrive at any hour, day or night. You cannot bring pets, because of guests with allergies.
The Studio
The Studio is one large room with a double bed, a sofa and a coffee table, and a kitchen corner behind a partition. The sofa folds out into a second double bed, so up to four people can sleep here. There is a bar table with two stools for breakfast, and a television above the counter.
The kitchen corner has a hob, a fridge, a microwave, a kettle, a coffee machine, crockery and wine glasses. The bathroom is your own, with a shower.
The door opens onto a terrace with a table and chairs, looking out into green.
"We loved sitting out with the view. Everything was spotlessly clean and our hosts were exceptionally kind and helpful."
Jaroslava, Booking.com (translated from Czech)
The Apartment
The Apartment has two bedrooms with single beds, a living room with a round dining table and a sofa, a separate kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, and air conditioning.
The kitchen has a four-burner gas hob and an electric oven, plus a microwave, a kettle, a coffee machine and a fridge. You can cook a proper lunch here, not just reheat one.
Its own entrance leads in under a covered terrace with a table and chairs, and from there out onto the lawn.
"A lovely little house. Outside there is room to sit on a blanket with the children and play."
Dana, Booking.com (translated from Czech)
A garden for each flat
Both the Studio and the Apartment have a garden of their own, which you have to yourselves. There is a pergola with a table in it, where you can take an open bottle. The rest is lawn.
There is a gate between the two gardens. If you come as two families, you can open it and walk straight across instead of round the whole house.
On a bike
The cycle path runs a minute from the house, and the winery sits on the Moravian Wine Trail. You can lock a bike here and charge an e-bike.
A larger group
Down the hill, in the village culture house, we have one more apartment. It takes up to 7 people and works best as somewhere to sleep after a tasting. You book it together with the tasting date. Counting that one, the three flats have 15 beds between them, 12 of them for people not sharing a double.
Dates and prices
Availability and prices for both flats are on Booking.com, where a reservation is confirmed straight away.
If you want to combine a room with a tasting, or book the apartment in the culture house, write to vase@vinarstvimedek.cz instead. We answer within a few days. Arrivals are Jarmila's job, and her number is on the contact page.
Getting here
Na Kopci 68, Uherské Hradiště. The winery stands on the bend of Na Kopci street, just below the little church. The nearest bus stop, Uherské Hradiště, Sady, Za Kovárnou, is about 350 metres away, and Kunovice railway station is a kilometre. Both walks are described step by step on the contact page.
